Born from a passion for India’s textile heritage
Sahasrabha was born from a deep passion for India’s rich textile heritage and a desire to bring its diverse weaving traditions together under one thoughtfully curated brand.
Founded by Vanishree N., Sahasrabha is a women-led brand that connects the source of the saree directly to the customer’s wardrobe.
With a background in Fashion Designing, training at the Silk Board of India, Bengaluru, and experience as a Yoga Therapist and in the corporate world, Vanishree brings together her understanding of textiles, people, craftsmanship and contemporary lifestyles.
India’s heritage weaves deserve to be known, valued, preserved and worn.

Our sourcing approach
As close to the source as possible
Vanishree works closely with silk-rearing farmers and the silk ecosystem, with silk sourced directly from regions such as Ramanagara and Shidlaghatta.
We believe that understanding where a saree begins is an important part of understanding the saree itself.
Our sourcing journeys take us closer to the people, processes and places behind the textiles—from silk rearing and cocoon markets to reeling, weaving and finishing.
Where possible, we build direct relationships with the people involved in the craft and source thoughtfully rather than simply buying in bulk.
Curated, not mass stocked
From source to closet, with care.
At Sahasrabha, we don’t believe in simply filling shelves with large quantities of stock. Every saree is carefully selected and checked for its craftsmanship, quality and character.
We curate rather than mass stock. Each saree is picked from its source with care and makes its way directly towards the customer’s wardrobe.
