Your Sahasrabha storage bag

Every Sahasrabha saree is provided with a breathable cotton saree storage bag to help you store your saree safely.

We recommend using the cotton bag for long-term storage instead of plastic covers.

Silk sarees

• Prefer professional dry cleaning for pure silk sarees.
• Avoid frequent washing.
• Keep away from prolonged direct sunlight.
• Air the saree occasionally before storing.
• Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the fabric.

Zari sarees

• Keep away from moisture and humidity.
• Avoid contact with perfumes, cosmetics and chemicals.
• Do not iron directly over zari.
• Iron preferably from the reverse side using a protective cotton cloth.
• Refold periodically to avoid permanent crease lines.

Storage

• Ensure the saree is completely dry before storing.
• Fold gently and place it inside the Sahasrabha cotton storage bag.
• Store in a clean, dry place away from moisture.
• Avoid airtight plastic covers for long-term storage.
• Do not place heavy items on top of delicate sarees.
• Refold silk sarees periodically and change the fold lines.
• Keep away from insects and damp areas.

Washing

Always follow the care instructions provided specifically for your saree.

For delicate silk, zari and handwoven sarees, professional dry cleaning is recommended unless otherwise specified.

Handcrafted textile variations

Many of our sarees are handwoven or handcrafted.

Subtle variations in texture, weave, motifs, colour, zari and thread character may naturally occur.

These variations are part of the character and beauty of handcrafted textiles and are not necessarily defects.

Colours may also appear slightly different depending on photography, lighting and individual screen settings.
